You are going to need at computer. It can be a laptop or a desktop computer. For better experience you should have at least 2 displays, one for video conferencing, and one for your hands-on work.
Yes, the default membership is free but you may upgrade to DevX for the best HackrBand experiance.
You can certainly join if you feel confortable with doing some extra effort to catch up. We will most certainly support you. And if you decide to wait until you turn 9 before joining the band, we can still give you some guidelines on how to gain basic coding skills, where to start etc.
